Airport to be built in Perlis
An airport will be built in Perlis as a catalyst to boost the state's development, said Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man.
It would be built in Chuping, incline with the state government's efforts to turn the area into a development hub, he said in his speech at the monthly assembly for civil servants in the state here today.
The text of the speech was read by State secretary Romli Dai, who also launched the state-level Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign.
He did not mention the cost of the proposed project, but said the airport would have landing facility for small aircraft to "facilitate local and foreign investors to come to the state".
Azlan said he believed the presence of the aircraft would help to boost development in Perlis in line with efforts to turn it into a developed state.
